Balmain Spring/Summer 2010, Style.com
In Autumn, I found this casual khaki green jacket by Mexx at the PDSA charity shop for only £3.99. As my only casual jackets had been denim or leather, I was after something in khaki and this fits the bill nicely as well as fitting in with this seasons trend.

Are you inspired by army or military looks this season?

I really started to appreciate army green a few years ago. I used to hate it but something changed my mind...I'm not even sure what! I think I just got bolder about trying it on and thought, "Hey, this looks way better than I expected."
I used to have an old pair of old army pants that I loved how they fit. My dad had gotten them from some thrift place and they fit so well and they were so comfortable too. I've never really liked the shirts all that much. I have a brother who ended up with two Navy coats from the ship he was on. They are so warm in the winter, and I love the way they button. Except they are really huge on me. But he always looks so handsome when he wears one.
P.s..I thrifted some sweaters..for a DIY project. I was going to make bad hair day hat out of them..but its starting to snow and well, I've got one on as I write this..so hopefully, I can spare one to try my idea out on. I hope.
I have a fatigue green jacket that has antique brass buttons all down the front, military style that I bought back in '05 when military was big then as well. I really need to pull it out and do something with it as it's quite cute! I love yours as well!
I'm looking forward to adding a thing or two in my wardrobe. I love military style wear. xoxo
Lovely jacket.
One of my favourite trends, always has been. I think its the tailoring and the colour that I love. Looking for some nice combats at the moment slim like Balmian .. if you see any let me know xxx
Hi everyone-thanks for your lovely comments. To Wildernesschic, me too, I'm looking for these and I'm going to check out Gap, River island and Warehouse to see if they've anything on offer yet!!
I love Khaki and Military Trends. I still have a few pieces from years ago, I may have to dig them out!
Always had a soft spot for military trends and khaki - glad I've got my khaki gap chinos, that and a white shirt should help me out a lot this summer!
I like to see the look on other people and can't wait to see how you wear this jacket!
Except for a skirt and tailored matching top in army green and a lot of khaki skirts, I don't have much of the military look in my closet presently. All it may take is a tweek or two should I decide to pursue it for myself!
I am loving the whole Utility meets military thing going on currently.
love how you source things from charity shops, bootsales etc to suit current trends

sweetie, you always have a fresh-eye on thrifting. it's another great find again. I love military/army jacket ever since.
Oh I can wait to see your interpretation. I do like military style coat. : )
I like that jacket <3
Great find! I've never been a big fan of khaki but I'm actually starting to warm to it - just in time for Spring!
I'm not a fan myself...it's never been my colour but I have always loved the khaki mac with the floral dress that seems to the the stape festival look.
Oh, this jacket is going to be perfect this spring/summer! I quite like the acute cuts, but don't really want it to look proper 'military'.
GOOD find. Love it.
Really into military at the moment. It's a winner.
x
Love that jacket.
In the summer I've been known to wear a mini skirt or cargo pants in camo with an tank top in army green. Yeah, I'm way too old for the look but I wear it anyway.
I don't like the army trend.. but it looks great!
i'm not really into the military trend, but i must admit you have the knack for finding great pieces for unbelievable prices - i'm never that lucky. loved that jacket, would totally wear it with a floral dress to make it girlie. :)
found your blog today while browsing for topshop necklaces, haha - great discover, i will definitely be coming back (also for tips on where to find awesome charity shops!).
I got a military jacket from H&M in the fall and I love it. I hardly wear it though.
Hi everyone-thanks for stopping by with your lovely comments!!
To be honest, I'm not feeling the military look right now, I'm more interested in a nude pallette of lace and silk! But I think I will move towards khaki and denim combos when the weather starts hotting up. That jacket is perfect
I don't think this is a look that's ever 'in' or 'out'. Balmain's take on it certainly isn't all that new and after seeing the actual collections in-store, I can definitely say their army jackets are not worth the heavy price tag. You did a great job sourcing your own cool jacket! And I prefer it so much more to the overly embellished ones I"ve seen so far!
I personally won't be going for the trend. I've already seen plenty of dark colors this winter... I prefer color and nudes for Spring!
I love the military look but just went into the closet and realized I don't have anything with a hint of military inspiration. But jeans, that's another story. I HEART denim and would love to cover the world in it! Just got all caught up on your latest posts. Love your fashion sense.
Have a great Valentine's Day!
