Stripes are also in for summer!!

Another trend that is bang on for summer is stripes-Harpers Bazaar show some stylish items that can really rock an outfit :-)

1st picture-Features Hoss Intropia, Joseph and Marc Jacobs

2nd picture-Jaeger, Anna Molinari and French Connection

I love the traditional navy blue and white stripes, but I was smitten when I found this last week in my local Sue Ryder charity shop-it is by H&M and bumble bee yellow and black stripes-ha ha!! I don't have a bandeau or striped dress, so thought this would be ideal to add to the summer dress collection :-)

And on Saturday just gone, as my darling husband knew I was having my R&R weekend (rest and relaxation!!) he brought me back this months Instyle magazine, which had a lovely freebie-an Elizabeth Hurley tote bag!! I love it, as it rocks the stripe trend-I've been using for work everyday since I got it!!

More Dresses for Summer-Next Year!!!

I had to smile because I did a post earlier on inspiration for dresses for this summer-a lot of the designers already have spring 2008 on show!!
Well, as dress 2 earlier I feel had a Marni vibe, I thought I would check out their offerings for next season. I particularly love their use of block colours and patterns that are not out and out florally-these are my picks to inspire for this summer-
I love the big necklaces with these dresses too!!

All dresses by Marni
PS- it was very interesting to note everyones comments over the last day or so, when I did a post for chinos comparing the post for summer dresses. It does feel like most of us ladies can get really enthusiastic over pretty, gorgeous summery dresses but less so over plain, less lovely (!) chinos-well, I'll certainly have a dress over chinos any day!!

Cute Summer Dresses

Just in case you need some inspiration for some new summer dresses, here are some cute ones I've picked out, available now. If you are a thrifter like me, these styles will give inspiration for whats hot this summer and hopefully you can get similiar for a fraction of the price :-)

House of Fraser, £47
House of Fraser, £59

Monsoon, £55
H&M, £24.99

I love all of these, as they rock different trends-you have all white strapless, floral strapless, tiered (ra-ra) style and the shift is so Marni!!

Chinos-Love em or hate em?

Chinos-They are the sort of trousers you either love or hate. Personally I've always rather worn jeans or cut offs or a dress in summer as an alternative.
They have made a comeback this summer and if you get the right cut they can work as an essential for a summer wardrobe :-)

1. YSL Chinos, £470

2. Topshop Chinos, £32

3.Marks & Spencer Chinos, £19.50

From previous pictures I've seen, the trend is also to wear them with high heels-wear what you like really, but wear them with attitude, to avoid that frumpy look!!

R & R Weekend.........trying on session

I'm a blog widow!! Chris and the boys have gone to buy some materials to build a ramp for the boys BMX bikes, so today and tomorrow this is what they will be up to! I'm not sad, it will be a Rest and Relaxation weekend for me...........I have some new magazines to get through and lots of time to catch up on reading everyone else's blogs!!!
Before they disappeared, I asked my photographer to take some piccys. I wanted to show you all my new Zandra Rhodes for Topshop chiffon kaftan. Danz did a previous post on tops with cutaway shoulders and this one features these details. I've paired the top with my white Ralph Lauren jeans and Next ivory pink peep toes.

This 2nd picture is of my new ASOS trousers that I told you about yesterday and I 've paired it with my vintage Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche silk top.
Look forward to catching up on all your blogs and hope you all have a brilliant weekend, whatever you get up to!!!
