Kenneth Jay Lane and Vintage faux fur for winter

In an October edition of the weekly 'Look' magazine, there was an article on retro accessories and the brooches section particularly was of interest to me:

A couple of years ago I bought via Ebay, a Kenneth Jay Lane for Avon brooch, which I've rarely worn.
So when I went to the Frock Me! vintage fashion fair this Sunday gone, I wore the brooch with my white faux fur cropped vintage jacket which was my mums and that she wore on her own wedding day in the mid seventies to my stepfather:

Here is the jacket too, it was my first time of wearing and it was incredibly warm and fitted like a glove-I love the crop style and even now is a perfect addition for my winter wardrobe

What accessories will you be wearing this season?

Costume jewellery-brooches

As well as my love of clothes, I love costume jewellery, particularly brooches. They are a easy way to pretty up an outfit and if you thrift them, can be a cheap accessory too.
Here are my collection of brooches that I've bought over the last couple of years-I'm quite fussy, so I've still a small collection-roll on the boot sales, as I'll be on the hunt for more this summer!

Parfum Christian Dior Brooch, £10 Wansted Rugby Club boot sale

Butler & Wilson kitty brooch, £1 Collier Row boot sale from the lovely mother in law

Double diamante heart brooch, £2 The Red Cross charity shop

'S' brooch, 50p, Church jumble sale

Kenneth Jay Lane for Avon vintage brooch, £4.50, Ebay

Jewellery to wear

In one of her previous posts, Siljes suggested jewellery to hand as a key part of your summer wardrobe. Up to that point of time, all my jewellery was kept in its box in the back of my wardrobe, thus making it inaccessible and I did not wear it!
Siljes pointed out the obvious-keep it on view, then I would wear it! Doh! It's not rocket science, but I still needed it to be pointed out to me!!

Above are some of my favourite pieces of real and costume jewellery:
Clockwise, Silver plated butterfly necklace, Gucci Tag on a gold chain, Lily Allen for New Look wishbone necklace, Mosaic Cross pendant on a gold chain from the Cistene Chapel shop in Rome, diamante CC necklace, cameo earrings, silver heart and rose necklace, S brooch, skull bracelet, silver charm bracelet (I've had this since I was little!) and my rose ring.
.

Here are todays additions-a white, turquoise and silver bead necklace and a double heart diamante brooch, both from the Red Cross Charity shop £1.99 each.
