Shopping My Wardrobe-Spring Jackets

Following on from my previous post, jackets are definitely a Spring staple for your wardrobe-check out what the Times Lisa Armstrong recommends.

Here are two jackets in my wardrobe that I'll be wearing this summer-they are both cropped in style and 3/4 length in the sleeves:

Pink Burberry blazer

White linen blazer

Blazers and smart jackets are so on trend for this summer and can be paired with jeans, dresses, trousers or skirts for a chic, stylish look-wherever you go.

What is your season 'go to' piece?

Sunday Sales Shopping

Well, after months of waiting and tracking one down in my size, I finally won this Kate Moss for Topshop Liberty print jacket on Ebay this Sunday.

I've been eyeing it for ages and knew I'd only be able to get it via Ebay, so can't wait for it to come so I can pair it with skinny jeans and body con dresses too.

At the boot sale I scored a vintage 80s Claude Montana red fitted, structured jacket for only £2.50, pictures to follow once the jacket has been dry cleaned.

I've so many jackets already, but I haven't a red one or a floral one-so its ok, right??

What do you have a lot of, but still continue to invest in for your wardrobe?

Polka dots for 50p

At the weekend, I went to the local boot sale and came away with this polka dot skirt, perfect for summer. Its a vintage skirt by Jigsaw and was only 50p.

I wanted something with polka dots, plus a 'flippy' style skirt, so for the money I had to buy it!!

I've dressed it down with my black leather biker jacket, biker ankle boots and a grey cami. My pearl necklace was added for a girly touch.

Great timing at the boot sale!!

When something is 'out of fashion' or considered outdated because of newer technology, its a great idea to snap up such pieces.

We drove past a boot sale on at Holloway, North London in February and despite it being freezing, I just had to have a wander around.

I was especially pleased to spy this vintage watch by Timex, which must be from the 70s, judging by its design.

I picked it up and decided to wind it up and to my surprise it started ticking!! I said to the lady that it worked and she said I could have it for £1!!! Well if I can pick up wind up watches for this cheap, then I'll certainly be collecting a few this summer at the boot sales.

It fits the bill for my hankering of a vintage watch and to be honest, I've two battery operated watches in my jewellery box unworn as the batteries have run out and I had not been bothered to get new ones. As long as I keep this one wound up, it does the job for me!!

Shopping my wardrobe-Utility jacket

Its been hard to know what to wear jacket wise when the weather has been cold and you want to lose the layers.

The new trend to cover this transitional period is the 'utility jacket', as seen on Whitney Port and Rachel Bilson in Grazia last month:

I was gifted a Gap utility jacket before Christmas and because it has a thick lining, I've been wearing it since January:

Its actually a Gap Kids one, but I love the fit and if I turn the sleeves up, you can see the bright orange lining!!

I'm wearing it with my thrifted Levi skinnys, which I purchased in the Cancer Research charity shop in Muswell Hill last month for £10.

Will you be in utility this season?

Thrift Inspiration, Doing it Ralph Lauren Style!!

In this months Elle, leather bags which have texture detailing are very much in trend, as are tan shoulder bags. I've been after one for a little while but only wanted it from the boot sale, for uniqueness and cheapness, LOL!!

I was really pleased to find this leather shoulder bag which fits the trend nicely and only a bargainous £1!! Only £6359 cheaper than the Ralph Lauren one featured above!!

Boot sales are now out in force and if you can find one local to you, head for it now as its an ideal way to source an item for a very small amount of money!!

This IS 'PriMarni', actually!!

Last week for me was a totally fabulous one on the thrifting front. First, I found this soft as butter, black leather biker jacket by Primark in my local Sue Ryder charity shop for only £8.95. I've been after one for a little while, so was pleased to snap this one up.

Then a couple of days later, I went thrift shopping in a neighbouring town and found three gorgeous designer finds. Firstly, this Marni summer skirt in a coffee shade thats bang on trend for this Spring for only £4 in the Sense charity shop.

Hence this post being my real PriMarni outfit, LOL!!

I'm wearing a Topshop nautical striped tee that was 50p at last years boot sale, purple opaque tights from Primark and my beige wedges that I'll be wearing so much this summer and came from Peacocks a couple of summers ago and are still going strong!!

The other items I snagged on my shopping trip was a vintage lilac Jean Muir jacket for £6.50 and a totally beautiful vintage Escada cream wool boucle knit jacket which is so Chanel style, with lovely red and black beading. I'll wear these statement jackets for sure this summer with skinny jeans and a tee, my favourite type of outfit!!

What styles will you be in this summer?

Thrift Inspiration, Doing it Net-A-Porter Style!!

Whilst thrifting last month, I spied a silk khaki shirt for only £1.99. I picked it up and thought about it and put it back and went home. After looking at Net-A-Porter and 'Look' magazine, I realised it would be a great buy after all so I went back and snapped it up!!

Khaki military is a trend that although is back this summer, never really goes out of style, so any basic piece in this trend will be a keeper anyway. Here are what the designers have in this trend:

Balmain, £705

My shirt by Debenhams is from the Salvation Army charity shop and for silk was a fabulous bargain at only £1.99.

What items of khaki/military will you be in this summer?
