Annual PimmsFest Blogger Meet at Balthazars, London

Hi everyone! You may already be aware from previous tweets, twitter and instagram photos that I was part of  an Annual Blogger Meet held at Balthazars in London this previous weekend.

It was lovely to see the gorgeous Wendy Brandes and MrB who are always in attendance mid year during their European vacation; the lovely Kate at Twisted Skirt (and Make Do Style) who is also up date with her yearly attendance, as is the delightful Liz of Vintage-A-Peel and newbie to the PimmsFest was the wonderful  Alyson of ThatsNotMyAge who decided to change the rules with MrB and go for lager instead!!

It was lovely not only to enjoy the Pimms and lager, the wonderful company but to indulge in the gorgeous Afternoon Tea that Balthazars offer. There was a lovely variety of fresh finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam and some wonderful cakes which were all devoured with enthusiasm and lots of pleasure!! Thank You MrB!! Of course it was a wonderful chance to catch up on with everyone and have a laugh and a good old natter in the progress. We enjoyed ourselves so much we were actually asked to vacate our seats for the evening sittings-not because we were too rowdy-and just as well as Wendy and MrB may well have missed the start of their theatre performance booked!!

So here are the photos of our always eventful and lovely Annual PimmsFest Blogger Meet- only 350 odd days till the next one!!

My annual meet always involves the wearing of Wendy's stunning rings- the Diana heart ring is my own which I bought from her a few years back and the Gravity Heart ring can be found here on her exquisite website

A fabulous time was had by all and I can't believe this has been my FIFTH annual meet out of SIX- just goes to show how blogging really does bring friends together from all around the world and different parts of the country too!

Outfit Post- MyStyle of Monochrome

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend, the weather yet again has been a mix of cloud, sun and rain but I haven't been up to much as I've had a stomach bug that's kept me low for a couple of days now.

This outfit is from last week and combines a couple of favourite items of mine- a new tee gifted from my son from one of his press day jaunts. It's by Edwin Jeans and I featured it on Livetolovedenim.com last week as well as writing about the history of the brand too. I'm wearing my faux leather style ruched leggings which are another favourite but something I've had for a few years now and rediscovered lately at the bottom of the wardrobe, nestling amongst unworn winter tights. They are ultra comfy and an ideal piece to team with a long line jacket which is how I've styled this outfit:

I've started wearing jewellery again, for some unknown reason I haven't been bothering but now maybe because Spring is here I think I'm trying to make more of an effort:

On my hand I'm wearing my gorgeous Hashtag ring by Wendy Brandes and some neon stacking rings from Primark. On my wrist I'm mixing my metals by wearing a silver bangle that was gifted to me last year by Ernest Jones and my Vivienne Westwood bracelet from the lovely Pearl over at Fashion Pearls of Wisdom which she sent to me a couple of years ago:

Clotheswise this is me channelling a  monochrome look, with a touch of neon thrown in-I'm loving my neon hoop earrings so much too, these were also from Primark a couple of weeks ago and I've also been wearing a neon diamante stud in my 2nd hole in my left ear- I've not worn an earring in this hole for at least ten years and it went in so easily!!

I'm linking this post to the lovely Patti's Visible Monday post on NotDeadYetStyle . I hope you all have a great week ahead-because I haven't felt well I've not been reading a lot of blogs so I'm hoping to catch up during the week, see you all soon!

Favourite Jewellery from 2012-WendyB Hashtag Ring

Hi everyone! Looking back at the last 12 months I was trying to see what my favourite purchases were and jewellery wise I invested really well. After seeing my lovely friend at our blogger meet last year and indulging in my annual ritual of wearing a chosen piece for the duration, I was suitably inspired in July to add my second WendyB piece to my jewellery box. I decided on her fabulous Hashtag ring which has been a regular on my finger and a real joy to wear. Not only is it utterly stylish it has an adjustable band for comfort too:

My only dilemma for this year is what to add to my collection next? Now that is the Question or the Exclamation, which may give you a clue as to my next purchases which you can see here and here.
Mind you, as I am trying to be a #goodblogger now, I could well be adding this too.

Well whatever I do decide to choose from the WendyB by Wendy Brandes collection I know for sure I will adore it and wear it with sassyness and pride, the only way to wear her gorgeous pieces, no?

I'm a # good blogger, thanks to Wendy Brandes

Hi everyone!! Well technically I haven't been a brilliant blogger or tweeter of late-my sincere apologies to those of you who have visited and kindly left comments. I will be trying very hard to visit you all in the coming week-as usual, life does tend to get in the way!!!

Anyhow, unofficially I am a # good blogger and my latest purchase proves it- I received my most gorgeous recent addition to my collection from the wonderful Wendy Brandes-no wonder I'm soo happy!!

I had wanted the # ring for ages and finally decided to order it from Wendy- I nearly went for an 'S' ring, but my love of the hashtag won through in the end!! I received it on Friday and have been wearing it ever since, here is its debut-

I adore it-it is an adjustable ring so I can wear it on either hand and I love the uniqueness and gorgeousness of it!! A big thank you to the lovely Wendy-check out our London blogger meet and how I kept to my annual tradition of trying on her rings and keeping one on for the whole duration of the meet! Note to Wendy-my newest addition will not stop this annual habit!!

If you've been bitten by the # bug, or feeling the LOL, OMG or YOLO vibe then check out the stunning WendyB by Wendy Brandes range NOW-YES NOW- I don't normally dish out orders, but I'll make an exception so you can drool over her fabulous range!

So here in the UK, the weather is dire-yet again. so the ring arrival really brought some sunshine to my weekend. In this outfit post, I am rather tribal-my tee is from Primark and was only £4-it has a textured self leopardprint which lifts it from a normal white tee. My TU skinny ankle grazer jeans in a beige animal spot print cost £1-thanks to a half price sale and using ten pounds worth of Nectar points. My thrifted Topshop leopardprint belt finishes this animal print outfit off:

So heres hoping to some sunny weather this week-before we know it Autumn will be here and summer will be a distant memory ;-(

Wishing you all a lovely week ahead and for any of you going on holiday, bring some sun back please!

Blog Inspiration, Wendy Brandes style

It was a wonderful surprise to wake up this morning to the post that the gorgeous Wendy B had done about me, following on from her fabulous post yesterday about her stunning vintage feather dress, which first had its debut with Wendy back in 1994 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala and then again this Tuesday at the Weeksville Heritage Center!

She continued to say that quite rightly, designer and vintage pieces should be cherished and not subjected to constant wardrobe culls, which I've adopted as my mantra too, please check out her wise words immediately!!

I met Wendy in July 2008 and it was such an exceptionally wonderful day, check out the full story here of our fabulous finds and how the day went. Here are some pictures of our fabulous day:

Of course, meeting Wendy only led to one thing-the purchase of my beautiful Diana ring, seen below and which can be purchased from Wendys fine jewelry line

Wendy was my first reader of my blog and its such a privilege to know her and learn from her wise words on style-and everything else come to that!!
Check out Wendys blog if you haven't already, she sure knows what she's talking about!!

Introducing Diana

Well, she's finally here!! I'd like to introduce you to Diana, my new best friend, who will be accompanying me on all my journeys from now on.

Firstly, let me tell you how we met. When gorgeous blogger Wendy came to London and we got together for our memorable day out, we were sitting with our lagers in a quaint English pub and I spotted her. Of course, I knew she was going to be a lifelong friend when I slipped her on my finger and as in the Cinderella story, a perfect fit ensued. Well, Diana didn't leave my side until late evening, when rather reluctantly she went back to her rightful owner, the lovely Wendy................but I was now in love and wanted her back!

A sneak peek!!

Hello Diana-You finally came to me!!! Yes, she was on my mind ever since Wendy departed to carry on her vacation and then back to home and I just knew I couldn't settle until Diana returned to me-only for keeps!!

I'm over the moon-she is absolutely gorgeous, sooo comfortable and will only leave my finger for the day job!! I can't stop staring at her and she is now officially my new 'BFFL'-Best Friend For Life'-Haha!!!!!!!!!! Seriously though, the Diana ring is so stunning and the quality is second to none, it will be a real pleasure to wear this as often as I can.

Diana, you will always have a special place in my heart!!! Click on my title to check out the Diana ring on Wendys gorgeous website-drool over it plus all the other pieces she has to offer, guaranteed you will all have a permanent wishlist which will just have to be satisfied sometime soon!!

Thanks so much Wendy-you've reunited me with Diana and I'm eternally grateful!
