London Fashion Week Photos at Hunger TV magazine

Hi everyone! In Monday's post I said I would do a post later in the week on my talented son's photography for Hunger TV magazine for London Fashion Week

Here are my favourite photos of what he took both backstage and front of house for various designers and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!!  As well as the shows featured he was at Eudon Choi, Christopher Raeburn and PPQ. Please do check out the designers links for a full synopsis of the show and more photographs too:

Afternoon at Somerset House for London Fashion Week in Chanel and Leopardprint

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! As you all may be aware, it's London Fashion Week until tomorrow and although I don't have any shows to go to, I have been living the 'experience' of it through my uber stylish and talented son who not only works full time in men's fashion pr, but is a freelance photographer. He has been fortunate to attend over nine different designer's shows to shoot backstage and some front of house-his highlights being Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith for Hunger Magazine.

Being such a proud mum, I will do a round up post of his wonderful pictures later this week when he has actually finished. Anyhow, it's been great to hear and see firsthand from him the backstage adventures and front of house antics from the view of a photographer and has made my experience of London fashion Week all the more enjoyable even though I did not participate!

As the sun was shining yesterday morning, I thought I would take him for a coffee at Somerset House before he set off to do his shows and we arrived early afternoon:

My intention was for us to have a coffee, him set off and for me to have a wander around Somerset House, take some photos and then do some people watching.  I just got to the people watching after making myself comfortable when it decided to rain-hard! Still, I managed to get some photos before the weather turned:

My lovely son, who was pretending he didn't want his photo taken, hehe!!

A view of the Embankment and the London Eye

Such a hub bub of passer by's, photographers and fashionistas in the business!!

My outfit of choice yesterday was my thrifted Chanel jacket, some new to me thrifted PRPS boyfriend jeans, black wool pashmina, a new Primark tee, thrifted Clarks black peep toe shoes and my leather leopardprint tote by Autograph at Marks & Spencer. I was so pleased I'd worn my scarf, I even had a hat in my bag which went on when the rain came down!!

The shops at Somerset House had some gorgeous items-my favourite's were the Bella Freud and Markus Lupfer jumpers which I could easily have bought all of them if money were no object and also the wonderful bookshop, where I fell in love with nearly all the bookshelves and their contents. If you're after any designer or vintage book then this must be your first port of call:

As you can see, i was very windswept, but it was a nice way to spend the afternoon-especially when I had a sneaky McDonalds before getting the bus back to Liverpool Street for the train home!!

Have you been keeping up with London Fashion Week at all? I like seeing what the designers have to show, but I am not at the point where I watch live streams or apply for tickets for shows. I'm more than happy to take a backseat and view it through my son's camerea lens, hehe!!

Wishing you all a really good week ahead!!

Visiting London Fashion Week

Hi everyone! This week is of course London Fashion Week , with over 56 catwalk shows and 20  presentations taking place and over 120 UK and International emerging and established designers showing at The Exhibition-certainly this is a very exciting and innovative time for all concerned!

Living only 40 minutes away by car or train, I thought I would go get my exhibition pass on Friday, do some people watching and pop into Oxford Street for some shopping too. Yesterday I had been  invited to attend the Bloody Gray designer showcase of film and installation so myself, eldest son and husband drove down and parked up at the Embankment for the afternoon at Somerset House.

I wore a B-Side satin varsity jacket, River island faux leather panelled leggings, black stud boots from PrettyLittleThing.com, thrifted Marks and Spencer black crepe and satin shirt, Chanel handbag

My invite, blogger exhibition pass and my goody bags

The Bloody Gray interactive digital AW13 presentation is featuring British and International designers. Martina Spetlova, Jane Bowler, Jayne Pierson, Tom Van Der Borght, Bas Kosters and Barbara Alan are showcasing their collections in an interactive digital environment:

On the first floor in the Portico Rooms was a perfect pitstop to people watch whilst enjoying a glass of champagne!!!

It's always great when you see and meet people too-my eldest son Chris the photographer on the left and his good friend,  freelance stylist Rickardo Mattocks-Maxwell were in attendance yesterday.

I was beyond pleased to finally meet the wonderful Pearl Westwood  and her lovely friend Lawrence. Pearl is in full attendance at London Fashion Week for TK Maxx and Style etc magazine- you must check out her style blog for the best up to date LFW news, street style shots, shows and 'what Pearl wore'-she continually looks dynamite in her Vivienne Westwood outfits!!

For me, London Fashion Week attendance was a lovely experience to people watch, watch the presentation that I'd been invited to, have a leisurely browse and refreshments at Somerset House and generally breath in the fantastic atmosphere of everything going on! I so admire the press, buyers and bloggers who attend all the shows, you certainly need endurance and stamina and it is of course a truly amazing experience to be part of it- I had my little slice which was  more than good enough for me!!

I am linking my LFW outfit post to the lovely Patti at Not Dead Yet Style. I hope you all had a great weekend and have a lovely week ahead!

Thrift Inspiration, Fetish Rock Chic Style!!!

My favourite look for Autumn and Winter is the 'fetish' trend, or for me, its more of a rock chic look.

I love the Giles outfit below, featuring skinny black jeans and a feathered jacket. Many designers such as Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Alexander McQueen are channeling this trend with feathers, fur, patent, leather and waxed denim, plus lots of red lippy which is certainly the order of the season for this look.

My take on this look was very recent at Toni and Guy for London Fashion Week. I do love skinny black trousers and the ones I wore above have a faux leather trim down both legs and were bought at River Island last winter. I wore my vintage Thierry Mugler jacket and 'I Love London' Topshop tee with them for the evening.

Net A Porter have black waxed skinny jeans available for this season, Burberry Brit (above) are £225 and Ksubi (left) are £185. These style jeans are perfect for day to night wear and can easily be glammed up or dressed down with a cardi or hand knit jumper for casual day wear.

As I love this look and you can never have too many skinny black trousers or jeans, I was pleased to find these waxed black skinny jeans by River Island for £6 in my local Barnados charity shop this week.

They don't have too much hanger appeal but look great on-I'll do an outfit post with them soon!!

I know they will be perfect for a day look with a cosy knit or fur bolero and for night, with a tailored tuxedo or a leather black biker jacket. What look is inspiring you for Autumn and Winter?
