Shopping my wardrobe-Asymmetric Dresses

According to the Telegraph, the Top 5 trend led dresses are Structured dresses, the LBD, Pastel dresses, Ruffle dresses and Asymmetric dresses:

DVF Twisted Wilma dress at Browns, £188

I decided to shop my own wardrobe for this trend and have got 2 in 1, which is very similar to the DVF one above!!

A perfect LBD and Asymmetric dress, this is by United Colors of Benetton and from the Sense charity shop last year, for £3.99. I can dress it down as shown here for a daytime look or glam it up without a top underneath and accessories for evening wear:

What style of dress will be wearing this season and can you already shop your own wardrobe for it?

Costume jewellery at Primark

I've always had a soft spot for Primarks costume jewellery. As ever, the prices are very reasonable and they offer on trend styles too.

I purchased this black and white enamel floral statement necklace last month for only £6.

I also love this pink floral enamel necklace with a long chain for only £2.50

Wil you be sporting a statement necklace this summer?

Thrift Inspiration, Doing it Jimmy Choo Style!!

Checking out Elle magazine for March, I was pleased to see the ever popular open toe ankle boot was still in style for this season. I've been after a pair for a while, but wasn't sure of the right ones to go for.

I saw this pair in an Elle edition from last year and was suitably inspired to buy my pair below:

My pair are from Matalan and were a bargainous £14!! You can also buy them online and I've found in the past that Matalans sandals and shoes are quite good value for money

They are very similiar to the Choos-open lattice style, with a snakeskin style heel and faux suede uppers.

Will you be in open toed ankle boots this season?

London College of Fashion MA Showcase-Dress Up

Last night was the grand premiere of the gorgeous Kate of Make Do Style's short film, Dress Up.

It was shown at the London College of Fashion and afterwards there was various discussion on film, fashion, magazines, blogging and all their influences. The panel included fashion and style blogger Coco's Tea Party, Grazia's Melanie Rickey, Tamar Jeffers Thomas, author of Hollywood Catwalk and Pamela Church Gibson, Course Director MA Fashion and Film.

Kate was looking totally stunning in her DVF dress-unfortunately I didn't manage to get a photo of her in it!! I also had the pleasure of meeting fellow bloggers Disneyrollergirl, Dressed and Pressed and That's not my age.

A very big well done and congratulations to Kate who has really worked so very hard these last couple of years to gain her MA with Distinction in Fashion and Film and it was a great pleasure to see the film and her beautifully presented red book dissertation.

Vintage blouse find!

I was really pleased to find this gorgeous vintage cream satin blouse at my local Sue Ryder charity shop a couple of weeks ago. It is unlabelled, but I love the cut and style, particularly the tulip embroidery on each shoulder and the little round buttons.

It looks like a 40s style, but I imagine it may well be from the 70s, I'll be wearing this a lot in Summer.
Next time I'll style it with something different, I was just eager to take a photo of it, LOL!!

Inspiration-Tan Leather Bags

As the new season is soon upon us, I'm hankering after a tan leather bag and have spied these lovelies for some inspiration. Tan leather never goes out of style and is certainly on trend this season.

I'll attempt to hunt one day via the boot sales or charity shops-for me, I'll be looking for a quality piece, an investment that I'll keep for a while to come-as soon as I find it, I'll let you know!!

Thrift Inspiration, Doing it Military Style!!

The military and army look is very much in trend this season, check out Vogues favourite picks for this coming season:

Balmain Spring/Summer 2010, Style.com

In Autumn, I found this casual khaki green jacket by Mexx at the PDSA charity shop for only £3.99. As my only casual jackets had been denim or leather, I was after something in khaki and this fits the bill nicely as well as fitting in with this seasons trend.

Are you inspired by army or military looks this season?
