Last sunny day in September!!

For a long time now, I've always hankered after a 'picture' skirt-I had a couple as a teenager and I think they make such a pretty summer skirt.

I was pleased to pick this one up at the boot sale this week for only 25p-I think its from the late 70s, early 80s and perfect for the scorching sunshine we are having today!! It really is an Indian summer for us at the moment, I hope it goes right through this weekend!!

The picture is of perfume bottles, mirrors, dressing tables and accessories. The skirt has a side button feature too and I'm wearing a black Zara cami top with it. The skirt to me has quite a 'Carrie' vibe to it, I've linked back to a previous Sex and the City vintage outfit post I did back in 2008-it shows that vintage never goes out of style, especially when its paired with something modern.

Wishing you all a really great weekend whatever you get up to. There are no vintage fashion fairs for me this weekend but I'm at Primrose Hill next Sunday. I'll be browsing the boot sales tomorrow and Sunday for late season bargains most probably!!

Thrift Inspiration, Carrie Vintage Style

Hi everyone!! Wishing you all a very Happy and Peaceful Easter.

This weekend I was inspired yet again by Carrie's vintage dresses. Sex and The City started in the 90s and each season there are many of her looks and outfits that I find so inspirational.

My favourite look are her simple vintage slip dresses:

SATC Season 4 vintage dress

SATC Season 4 vintage dress

SATC Season 2, Carries $7 vintage dress

A recent boot sale find was this cream vintage slip dress, which like Carries white floral one-picture one, is quite sheer, but a perfect summer vintage day dress

I'm wearing flat silver sandals and a Topshop denim jacket, thrifted last year

What type of dresses are inspiring you for summer day and evening wear this year?

Viva La Vintage!!

As you are aware from my header title, I really love vintage!! I have 50s dresses from my mum, 70s Ossie Clark dresses, 80s wear and although too young to be called vintage, pieces from the 90s too!! SATC ran from 1999 to 2004, with Carrie showcasing numerous times, vintage pieces that look totally timeless-here are some of my favourites :-)

A beautiful white vintage sundress-totally timeless!!

Another lovely vintage, my dear!!

A gorgeous vintage skirt!!

Vivienne Westwood vintage-I want it!!

Sex and the City-90s fashion-wearable now?

I've noticed some fellow bloggers have been inspired by 90s fashion recently-this got me to thinking, well this was only 10 years ago in SATC terms and I was intrigued to see what the girls were wearing back then. Knowing particularly how stylish Carrie was and still is, I've shown some pictures of the girls and I personally feel that some, if not all of her outfits could be worn now, 10 years later-or at least give some style inspiration for now!! What do you think?
So 90's-so now? I love leggings anyway!

I love this fuschia dress!!

Cute capri pants!!

I love this floral dress-particularly the length-just different from wearing above the knee which seems to be so in for the past few years

I love this outfit-this looks timeless to me-a classic chic look for any era!

Another outfit that I feel is timeless too!

Sex and the City Movie-Love, Love Love it!!!

I went and saw it this afternoon and I defy any true SATC fan to say they don't absolutely love it!! To say I loved it is an understatement! I'm not going to divulge any details, as I know some of you gals have yet to see it, but 2 things-it will not disappoint if you're a true fan and secondly, please take some tissues with you!!!!

A fabulous, fabulous film!!!!

Sex and the City

In preparation of the new Sex and the City movie-I can't wait!!- a must read is Sex And The City Kiss And Tell (published by Boxtree/HBO).
Not only does it gives a mini synopsis of all episodes from start to finish (all six seasons), there are mini biography's of all concerned, fantastic pictures of all the girls wardrobes (swoon!), a low down season by season-this book certainly beats watching your box sets back to back if you are pushed for time!
