Thrift Inspiration-denim shorts Isabel Marant style. Plus #bad blogger mention!!

I should rename this blog post #badblogger- I really want to firstly apologise for not leaving comments on all your lovely blogs and also very irregular posts too. In between not been very well, starting a new job and helping my mum with her upcoming house move, blogging and my newly found tweeting have taken a very big back seat. I have become more of a 'lurker', in that I am visiting your blogs and reading posts but not commenting, lazy and so enjoyable, but true!!

So in the spirit of getting back into the swing of things, I thought I would show you another of my latest denim purchases, inspired by this seasons offering by Isabel Marant at Matches:

I found these Levi's shorts a few weeks ago in my neighbouring town Sense charity shop, for only £1. They will be a really leisurely style to wear and inspired by above, I would like to wear them with a grey sweatshirt, of which I am still to find!!

Denim is still a major style obsession of mine-I find it so easy to wear and it never goes out of style whether its for winter, spring, summer or autumn.

I will try my best to leave comments with you all soon and I wish you all a really lovely week ahead too!

Thrift Inspiration, Dolce & Gabbana style

Hi everyone!! Its a lovely sunny afternoon and I have been suitably inspired to do a post (at long last!) based on what is inspiring me for this coming summer season.

Dolce & Gabbana are chanelling picturesque Italian summertimes from the 1950s and on seeing their latest ad campaign, the gorgeous eggplant dress made me pull out my original 50s dress that my mum wore back in the day and which I still proudly wear.

It hasn't got a veggie print but the cut and style is virtually the same as the D&G one, I just had to show you all. It goes without saying I will be wearing this a lot this spring and summer!

I would say the 50s is definitely one of my favourite fashion eras, the bold prints, fitted styling and Italian inspired pieces really make this a chic and fabulous choice for the coming season:

What season or decade is inspiring you for this coming summer?

Thrift Inspiration, Doing it 'Grazia' style-the return of the rucksack

This weeks edition of Grazia continues to highlight this coming season's trends and for a change its not all about the 'It' bag, more of a return from the fashion wildnerness, the rucksack.

Its the type of bag we all most probably have stashed away in the back of the wardrobe and in my case it most definitely was! The rucksack certainly is a classic style which comes in an array of different colours, patterns and materials:

I was suitably inspired to dig out my mint green Kipling rucksack-adorned with little Tim, the Kipling's trademark gorilla who is in this seasons colour of spearmint green, bless him, hehe!!

I thrifted this bag about three summers ago at my local boot sale for only £3- I remember it being an early Spring find and I use it quite sparingly to keep it in good condition. I will definitely be wearing it out a few times this summer- it is a welcome style staple that is both in trend colour and fashion wise, as well as being practical and cute!!

What item have you rescued from the back of the wardrobe and brought out of the fashion wilderness for this summer?

Thrift Inspiration, Pale and Interesting Escada style

Today is absolutely freezing and really all thoughts of Spring were really not on my mind this morning, but during a shopping trip in town I found another piece for the Spring and Summer wardrobe.

The designer collections were showcasing icy colours of spearmint green, bitter lemon and damask rose, all gorgeous shades for the new season to come.

This outfit by Louis Vuitton is an ice creamy delight and both pieces would really work well as separates too.

This jacket below by Jonathan Saunders is a fabulously versatile item which is perfect with a dress but will go with this seasons pastel and floral skinny jeans too:

Todays find is a spearmint green silk and wool jacket by Escada and I've teamed it with a simple navy cami tee and my moss green skinny jeans from Marks & Spencer which were from the PDSA charity shop last month. I will look forward to wearing this jacket with a cute summer dress and either pastel or white jeans for an more updated look in Summer:

I am also after a longer length blazer for summer and some white or pastel jeans. Roll on the boot sales to start where I'm sure I will score some pieces I'm after. For the moment, I've got my chunky knit aran cardigan back on and the heating turned up high, with the Escada jacket nestled in the wardrobe for an outing when Spring comes!!

Have you made any 'pale and interesting colour purchases for Summer yet?

Wishing you all a lovely weekend, wrap up, I think snows on the way!!

MyStyle- Denim new season pieces,Thrifted Levis and some Ralph Lauren

Hi everyone! Picking my magazines this month, I had to go for Company-not only was it a bargainous £1, but it is is also their Denim issue-with my current denim obsession I had to have it for some style and thrift inspiration!! I also have Vogue too, which pinpoints pale denim as a main trend this summer.

I've been after some key denim pieces for a while-namely a good fitting denim skirt, a pale denim jacket and a 'perfect' denim shirt. I've managed to find all these pieces this month all for under £20.

The denim skirt is a dark denim pencil style by Levis from the Sue Ryder charity shop for £3.95. It is a great piece which will go with a lot of items I already have in my wardrobe. I picked up this Ralph Lauren striped Breton tee at the Ralph Lauren outlet in Ashford for just £16.99, which will also be a main staple for this season.

I also managed to find a really good pale denim shirt in Primark on Sunday-I was in there shopping for pillowcase and glancing in the mens section was this fitted, pale, long sleeved soft denim shirt which is £10 and is a great fit and feel-it can be tucked in or worn out, layered up or worn by itself:

My eldest son found this pale denim Levis jacket last week in my local Sue Ryder charity shop for £9.95, more than I normally pay but its a perfect fit and I love the colour-plus I'm happy to pay that bit more to charity if I'm happy with an item!!

So my denim obsession is nicely fulfilled and now I just need to bring out the hats and scarves for the cold spell thats coming!!
