70's, 80's and 00's-Vintage and Modern Dresses

I went to the charity shops today, not really expecting to find anything, but was very pleased with what I got!! I went out with just under £20 and came back with a 70s navy floral maxi skirt by C&A (now no longer in the UK), an 80s chiffon crepe floral sundress, an 80s leopard print dress complete with shoulder pads and smiley face buttons, a fluoro pink cheesecloth short sleeve blouse (to wear with my Chloe jeans) and a modern floral maxi dress, to replace the one I had to give away as it no longer fitted! Oh, and 15p in my purse!!

He he he!! I'm not the only one doing cheap chic! This is the wonderful SJP in her own line, 'Bitten' which costs only £4.50! It is available nationwide in America, through Steve and Barry's own shops, who produced the line with her!

Five Jackets for a Fiver!!

Following my 'designer cheap chic theme', yesterday, I though I would post five jackets that I purchased for around the £5 mark :-)

All of these were charity shop finds and the styles are pretty much timeless, so they will be kept for the long term!!

As a mum in a family of two growing boys, I completely understand how important it is to shop on a budget, especially when it comes to buying clothes. My own personal preference for this is to shop at boot sales and charity shops for designer items, whether they are vintage or modern, rather than spend full retail price in the shops.

I do shop in high street shops, especially for staples such as vests, leggings and t shirts, but I find it so exciting to hunt a bargain down, especially when it's designer!!

I have shown 10 items I have found on my various trips to the boot sales and charity shops over the months and years-none of these were over £6 and all are authentic!! So, now summers here, hit your boot sales, flea markets, charity and thrift shops and bag yourself a designer find!

Our country pub find-The Rabbits

Its Bank Holiday Monday and it's been a scorcher weatherwise!! We've just come back from a lovely country drive and we stopped en route at 'The Rabbits', a lovely country pub in Stapleford Abbotts (Essex) and sat in the garden, relaxing and enjoying our drinks.
