Weekly Magazine Fix......Or maybe not!!

I do love my weekly and monthly fix of magazines, my must buys are the monthly Elle and Vogue and I occasionally buy Harpers Bazaar too.

On a weekly basis, I don't always buy a magazine, although if I do, Grazia is my main magazine of choice and sometimes I choose Look instead. I think Look is around £1.50 and Grazia is now £1.95.

So, when I was in Tescos yesterday, I flew over to the magazines and had a quick skim at both, but was undecided whether to have one for the week.

I detoured over to the clothing section as I haven't been in Tescos for ages and fancied a look at what was on offer. This top in a green stripe colourway was reduced from £3.50 to £1.50- a right bargain and was quickly swooped on and bought instead of my magazine for the week!!

Its quite amazing how an item of new clothing can be bought for less than your favourite weekly magazine-I wore it yesterday and will have it longer than what I would have had the magazine, so this was my bargain of the week!!

I was just thinking the same thing, Sharon! I just bought the American Vogue and Elle last night and realized it cost me close to what my Walmart dress did just last week ($15). If I bought British Vogue ($10) and British Elle (also $10), I could've bought a dress and lunch ;)

You find bargains even when you're not thrifting! Amazing.

Yes, I agree....On more than one occasion I bought clothing that cost less than a magazine. Shocking? YEs! and I too would choose clothes over a mag... Blogs are so much betta anyways!

Great bargain, this top is so versatile.
Why spend money on magazines, now that you have the internet?
Have a great weekend.

What a fantastic buy! It's always good when you can partake of such a good bargain and find an item that appeals to you and one that fits!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, hon. You know, I can still see Michael, the little boy, singing "ABC" with his brothers behind him. It's a hard pill to take and I'll be praying for his family.

Have a wonderful day, my dear.

You know me--I get my magazine fix at yard sales along with all the other great stuff! I recently bought a whole box o' magazines for $2 (mostly Martha Stewart & Real Simple)--and found there were 50 in the box. All the recipes and decorating etc are timeless so it doesn't matter that they're not the latest issues. This stash should last a while!

Prices of magazines can be quite ridiculous... but they know we'll buy it anyway. I sometime end up regretting it actually, thinking of what I could have bought with that money instead.

Oh I can definitely relate. The amount of money I spend on magazines is really bad actually. I've cut back on Vogue and Elle (my sister buys the latter so that's ok!) but it's my love for Japanese magazines which is really bad...

Hey Sharon, how are you?
I do love magazines but I haven't bought any new ones in quite a while, the reason being lack of funds (they cost like $20 here).
Cute top and such a great price! Definitely a better investment than the mags.
Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Hi there-mags can be pricy, especially if you buy weekly and monthly-check out the websites as suggested, they can be great alternatives!! thanks for all the lovely comments too!

I'm in the US but I do love and often buy British Elle. Also sometimes the Tatler! For US mags I like Elle and sometimes Allure or Lucky. the content on these mags' Internet sites just doesn't do it for me and so I find the magazines to be a worthy luxury. Also, the British music mags are the BEST and far superior to anything in the US. Too bad they cost US $10--$15, so I don't buy them that often.
