Casual Style in Gap and River Island

The weather has been really lovely these last few days and for dressing down I wore a pair of recently thrifted River Island indigo skinny jeans, rolled up for a capri style look, with a plain black vest top and a Gap Liberty style print blouse that I rarely wear.

I like the idea of wearing blouses or shirts over a vest top for a summery layered look- I've been looking for a denim shirt but haven't had any luck so far.

When theres not much to do except work, housework and chores I like to be comfortable and casual and this is my sort of go to outfit for lounging.

What is your summer casual outfit of choice?

Its also the Vintage Fashion Fair at Primrose Hill on Sunday, the days seem to be flying by so this may be my last post before then!!

I hope you are all having a good week ahead so far-although I haven't been to any boot sales or charity shops just recently it seems the days are just going so quickly!!

Not long for the summer holidays now though, six weeks of hopefully sun, relaxation and general chilling out!! What are your plans for the summer?

I love the jeans and layered top look. I'm the same for casual wear: either 50s style with turnups or flared jeans, with a pretty/comfy top. But I only wear hoodies etc' if I'm doing sport or something! I prefer a cardie, cape or shrug- or a 70s track top.

That's a lovely casual outfit, I like the jeans rolled up like that. It's been so long since I wore my skinny jeans that I decided to sell them. x

That's smart dressing for lounging, my lounging wear consists of battered track pants and t-shirts. All glamorous images of me have now been shattered lol.

Hopefully we'll squeeze some camping in this summer.

Great outfit as per usual! My favourite summer outfit at the moment is skinny jeans, sandals and a slouchy royal blue t shirt. No major summer plans this year except to see Deacon Blue in a couple of weeks. Hope you enjoy your vintage fair xx

Great outfit! I also like to wear blouses as light jackets in the summer. Have fun at the fair! xxx

Haha! I'd have to find skinny me before I tried skinny jeans. But you look great in this outfit Sharon. For myself I tend to do pretty tops or t-shirts over linen trousers, or my old faithful Gap cut offs. For cover up I'm finding that my neutral coloured long Gap cardi from two years ago is a constant this year. Good luck at the fair on Sunday!Cx

I love turn-ups and blazers together. Timeless, cool, chic.

Will there be photos of the Primrose Hill fair?!

Very practical for this changeable weather we've been having too. I'm wearing a fairly boring playgroup suitable outfit of jeans, t shirt and cropped cardigan, it's been peeing it down on and off all day.

Looks a casual and comfy outfit hun. Good luck with the vintage fair.

My summer outfit is the same as my winter outfit -- jeans and a black t-shirt :-(

I love your layering idea! I actually thought that this was a jacket - it works so well as a cover-up. I can't live without thin cardigans and flats when it comes to a casual summer look. Hope you have a lovely weekend :)

I think your casual outfit looks incredibly chic, Sharon. Mine is more old sweatpants and an even older cashmere sweater with loads of holes in it. You won't be surprised to hear that I live very tucked away :)
