After a long-ish summer hiatus which nearly seemed like it could have been a permanent one, I have redesigned my header and looked into how I want to project my blog from now on.
I've come to the conclusion that I would like to stick to what I do best and what I enjoy-which is to carry on thrifting pieces from sources that I am currently inspired by-be it my favourite magazines du jour, ie-Red, Vogue, Grazia and Look and also of course by fellow fashion blogger and tweeters. Then of course the natural progression to this is to blog about my latest find and share my thrift inspirations with you all!
I have been struggling this last year with what I wanted to blog about and I have also questioned whether I wanted to carry on too. I can't actually blame anything in particular- I think a combination of an unpredictable summer, 'bloggers block', enjoying not being online for long periods of time all contributed to a lethargic apathy towards creating any blog posts, although I have been thrifting every now and then.
So as we approach Autumn, I am hoping motivation and passion for thrifting and blogging will marry together to produce some inspiration worthy blog posts.
Whilst on our summer break in August, a relaxing afternoon meant a choice of some magazines and I picked out Red magazine- I know its a favourite for a lot of fashion bloggers already, but I was suitably impressed to make this a monthly must have from now on. This months issue had inspiration aplenty and one of the main trends I've picked up on is a neon knit for the coming season:
Yes, if you do buy only one thing this month........... a neon knit is certainly a fun and stylish way to add a trendy pop of colour to your wardrobe.
So yesterday I was pleased to spot this sleeveless waffle cotton knit by Lands End in my local British Heart Foundation charity shop. Being indecisive meant even after trying it on I put it back on the rail only to decide last night I should have got it. Thankfully after work today it was still there today and I quickly snapped it up.
It will be great to wear right now in the gorgeous Indian summer we are currently experiencing in the South East of England but will look great over a white shirt layered in the colder weather.
New season trends from the catwalk that are inspiring me are purple and berry tones, black leather and winter florals-all so stylish with fashion longevity and certainly inspiration enough for future thrifting trips.
I look forward to catching up with you all and I really look forward to you dropping by-please let me know what styles and trends are inspiring you for this Autumn and Winter.
Have a fabulous weekend, whatever you get up to and heres hoping for sun, sun and more sun!!

It really IS good to have you "back"! The neon knit is a great color...Should look really great on you with your coloring....
I look forward to whatEVER you post.
I'm not so up on trends...more looking for wardrobe staples/basics that suit my taste and style....but I DO enjoy seeing/hearing what's happening in the fashion world....
Lovely to see you back Sharon, your blog's looking great! Fab jumper, I'd love a big mohair one in the same colour! Xxx
I am so glad you are back, I was really missing you and your posts! I love the thing 'that you do best'! And the great thing for me is knowing the actual shops where you got them from (or hazarding a pretty good guess!) and thinking- oh wow, she found that there! I have to say we ARE really lucky with our Charity shops aren't we! By the way, I went to the Sue Ryder near the Doctor's surgery and got a gorgeous sailor dress there- just what I wanted!
LOVE that you're back - missed reading your posts! xx
Yay! I too have been a lazy blogger over summer, but I missed reading your posts while you were away.
I rarely read mags, but may well get back in the loop with Red.
Hello hello glad you are back and I love neon pink and it's so nice to have the sun back again but still weird to be looking at jumpers but c'est le vie fashion isn't practical :-)
So glad to see you back and blogging again, Sharron! That top is lovely, such a vibrant and cheery shade! x
I hear what you are saying here. I too had to have a long break to really see where and what my blog was doing. It takes more soul searching than you'd think, doesn't it ? Well done. Love your work.
Glad you're back because you have a unique talent for finding the latest trends in thrift stores!
Nice to see you back! LOVE the sweater, and I am grooving on the neon too (had a sweater that colour almost 30 years ago when I started highschool, gulp). I know they say you shouldn't wear white after Labour Day (do you have Labour Day in the UK? It's the day before school starts), but sod it, your new find would look killer with white pants! :)
that colour will suit you perfectly and is so much on trend right now, what a wise fashion bargain - as usual!
hope to hear from you, I'm back to blogging after a longer break!

Love the neon knit and you always source things so well xxx
Aah you're always so good at finding a 2nd hand version of an on-trend piece, I think you have radar!
I have had similar problems with blogging recently, I love it usually but after a bit of a holiday I realised I had been spending WAY too much time online. But then I don't want to miss anything. And I did have a bit of a crisis of confidence about the direction of my blog. But I'm working through it!
hi everyone-so kind of you all to leave such fab comments, thank you very much xxx
I'm glad you've stuck with blogging. I'm struggling at the moment with a combination of motivation, inspiration and time to blog and read everyone's blog. My winter inspiration is bright colours like royal blue. I've had my hair coloured bright red which has made me re-think my wardrobe choices and give them a pop of colour.xx
