Photos of our day in London

We all went to St Katherines Dock a little while ago and Chris and I decided to go back today, as I didn't really want to go shopping in London. We thought we would go for an early lunch, beverages and a stroll-we had a gorgeous time!!

Todays outfit-Gianni Versace dress,
from Mrs Stings designer sale, £10 and black sandals, Primark £15

We arrived at St Katherines Dock and bought some sandwiches, cake and drink to eat on a lovely green overlooking the Thames-this was our view as we were eating!!!

After eating, we took a stroll around St Katherines Dock and stopped to admire the stunning yachts and power boats in the Marina!!

A pitstop at Cafe Rouge for a pot of earl grey tea for me and Chris-it was like a sun trap here and the boats here were spectacular-one was for sale for only £1.25 million-Chris wondered if they would take a cheque-haha!!!

Onwards to the Tower of London-hello Chris!!

Oh dear, the tides out-I wouldn't like to fall down there-haha!!!

The Tower of London!
The Queen's Stairs-where Royalty used these steps to go into the Tower!!

We had a lovely time here- I would recommend any one who comes to London to visit the Tower-although we didn't go in, there is plenty of information to read as you walk around!! We came back to Essex and I decided to go thrift shopping-I picked up a lovely black leather horsebit trim belt, a Cacharel scarf, a lovely fitted, soft brown leather jacket and inspired by lovely Silje, a wine coloured lambswool long line cardigan for Autumn!!

Just the two of us.........

Today was the first day of my summer holidays-I have 6 weeks off-yay!!!
Plus, what makes these following 3 days special, is that Chris and I have them to ourselves, as Christopher and Robert don't start their holidays until Thursday :-))
So, once the boys were at school, our itinerary was as follows-
First-breakfast at Costa Coffee

I had an almond croissant and a mocha flake with cream-delicious!!!
Then-Shopping, Oxfam has a great retro section and I just had to have this original 60s cotton summer dress!!!

We then went home, so Chris could check out his new Playstation 3 game and I was so famished I suggested a picnic at the local park. We went to Sainsburys to get some just cooked chicken from the rotisserie counter and some pick your own pasta and green salads to take to the park.

Yay-I didn't have to wait to wear my new white dress!!

Oh, picnics are such hard work-me and my lovely new Chanel bag!!

Tomorrow we are hoping to go to London-more shopping, maybe??

Sunday-Shoe Reporting

Well here are the new shoes I bought yesterday-they were from Debenhams (a high street department store) and they are by J for Jasper Conran. They were in the sale-originally £65, reduced to £19!!! I really liked them as I did want court style shoes plus they have a high wedge heel, so they are ideal for a day look too!!

Today Chris and I went to the boot sale-again!! I got these silver New Look shoes for £1-very CL, as they have a red sole!! I also got a lovely white summer dress-at last, also by New look for only £2!!! I will wear and post a picture in this when we get a blazing hot day-hopefully, soon-haha!!

Have a great Sunday everyone!!

Today

Today, despite our eccentric British weather of intermittent rain, sun and gusty winds, I managed to get to the boot sale and bag a couple of bargains before a torrential downpour sent me running for the car!! I got a lovely gold vintage Italian chain belt for £3 and a vintage cotton skirt suit by Janice Wainwright for £1. The skirt suit isn't really me, but I may wear the top and skirt separately, or store it and sell it on Ebay at some point-I just can't leave vintage finds, whether they are really me or not!!

Roberto Cavalli top and 7 For All Mankind jeans

The summer fete was on and I got to see Robert and his pals doing their thing-very good indeed!! Later in the afternoon, I went shopping and got a pair of black shoes which I wanted for Autumn-I did want patent really, but they were in the sale, just what I wanted so another bargain bagged!! I will show you my belt and shoes in the week!!

Have a wonderful weekend everybody!!

Ossie Clark-Late 70s-Early 80s

A late 70s-early 80s Ossie Clark
2 piece which recently sold at Kerry Taylor Auctions

As you all know, I'm an avid Ossie Clark fan. The majority of his pieces are from mid sixties to mid seventies and are either his own label, Ossie Clark or that of his collaberation with Al Radley, Ossie Clark for Radley. There are very few pieces around now that are from his own label, Ossie Clark Ltd, which ran from 1977 to 1981.

I was successful enough to win on EBay this gorgeous 2 piece, which is in a draping Grecian style, and has a low cut cowl front and back, silver sequin and beading shoulder details and a 5 panel tulip style skirt, in a flowy turquoise blue silk type jersey. It was a buy it now price of £44.99, which is quite a find-I was very lucky indeed!!

As you can see, it is in a typical early 80s style-so Dallas meets Dynasty-some of you aren't old enough to have watched this first time round!! But what I love about it is the deep colouring, the fluidity, the draping, the quality and the price-haha!!

It is quite a glamorous, cocktail style piece and although I haven't an event to wear it to yet, I know it will be worn at some stage!!

This gorgeous Ossie Clark hot pink late 70s-early 80s dress is available at Samaya Ling Vintage.com for £750

This early 80s Ossie Clark navy blue draped style 2 piece is available through CircaVintage.com for £580
