Thrift Inspiration...............Net-A-Porter Camo style!

Camo is featuring as a major trend this season, designers such as KARL and ACNE have some much coveted pieces in their Autumn/Winter range and this style of print pretty much goes with any item that you would already have in your wardrobe:

So I was pleased to find this military styled camo jacket by Pepe Jeans London at the boot sale a couple of weeks ago for a bargainous £2!! It has a lot of features including floral and velvet trims and sequin and beading on the reverse-two main style trends in one jacket-military and camo is a great addition to my wardrobe for sure!!
Grazia featured ACNES camo biker jacket a couple of weeks ago in their 'Dispatches from the fashion cupboard' feature a couple of weeks ago, proving that having a camo item for this season really does serve as a stylish, versatile piece in your wardrobe that goes with virtually any day or evening look and will never date either.

I've already worn it with plum skinny jeans and a beige Zara sweater and I know it will be worn a lot this Autumnn with other transitional items I already have.

What trends are inspiring you this season, will camo feature in your wardrobe?

Thriftmystyle inspiration..............Autumn neon

After a long-ish summer hiatus which nearly seemed like it could have been a permanent one, I have redesigned my header and looked into how I want to project my blog from now on.

I've come to the conclusion that I would like to stick to what I do best and what I enjoy-which is to carry on thrifting pieces from sources that I am currently inspired by-be it my favourite magazines du jour, ie-Red, Vogue, Grazia and Look and also of course by fellow fashion blogger and tweeters. Then of course the natural progression to this is to blog about my latest find and share my thrift inspirations with you all!

I have been struggling this last year with what I wanted to blog about and I have also questioned whether I wanted to carry on too. I can't actually blame anything in particular- I think a combination of an unpredictable summer, 'bloggers block', enjoying not being online for long periods of time all contributed to a lethargic apathy towards creating any blog posts, although I have been thrifting every now and then.

So as we approach Autumn, I am hoping motivation and passion for thrifting and blogging will marry together to produce some inspiration worthy blog posts.

Whilst on our summer break in August, a relaxing afternoon meant a choice of some magazines and I picked out Red magazine- I know its a favourite for a lot of fashion bloggers already, but I was suitably impressed to make this a monthly must have from now on. This months issue had inspiration aplenty and one of the main trends I've picked up on is a neon knit for the coming season:

Yes, if you do buy only one thing this month........... a neon knit is certainly a fun and stylish way to add a trendy pop of colour to your wardrobe.

So yesterday I was pleased to spot this sleeveless waffle cotton knit by Lands End in my local British Heart Foundation charity shop. Being indecisive meant even after trying it on I put it back on the rail only to decide last night I should have got it. Thankfully after work today it was still there today and I quickly snapped it up.

It will be great to wear right now in the gorgeous Indian summer we are currently experiencing in the South East of England but will look great over a white shirt layered in the colder weather.

New season trends from the catwalk that are inspiring me are purple and berry tones, black leather and winter florals-all so stylish with fashion longevity and certainly inspiration enough for future thrifting trips.

I look forward to catching up with you all and I really look forward to you dropping by-please let me know what styles and trends are inspiring you for this Autumn and Winter.

Have a fabulous weekend, whatever you get up to and heres hoping for sun, sun and more sun!!

I'm a # good blogger, thanks to Wendy Brandes

Hi everyone!! Well technically I haven't been a brilliant blogger or tweeter of late-my sincere apologies to those of you who have visited and kindly left comments. I will be trying very hard to visit you all in the coming week-as usual, life does tend to get in the way!!!

Anyhow, unofficially I am a # good blogger and my latest purchase proves it- I received my most gorgeous recent addition to my collection from the wonderful Wendy Brandes-no wonder I'm soo happy!!

I had wanted the # ring for ages and finally decided to order it from Wendy- I nearly went for an 'S' ring, but my love of the hashtag won through in the end!! I received it on Friday and have been wearing it ever since, here is its debut-

I adore it-it is an adjustable ring so I can wear it on either hand and I love the uniqueness and gorgeousness of it!! A big thank you to the lovely Wendy-check out our London blogger meet and how I kept to my annual tradition of trying on her rings and keeping one on for the whole duration of the meet! Note to Wendy-my newest addition will not stop this annual habit!!

If you've been bitten by the # bug, or feeling the LOL, OMG or YOLO vibe then check out the stunning WendyB by Wendy Brandes range NOW-YES NOW- I don't normally dish out orders, but I'll make an exception so you can drool over her fabulous range!

So here in the UK, the weather is dire-yet again. so the ring arrival really brought some sunshine to my weekend. In this outfit post, I am rather tribal-my tee is from Primark and was only £4-it has a textured self leopardprint which lifts it from a normal white tee. My TU skinny ankle grazer jeans in a beige animal spot print cost £1-thanks to a half price sale and using ten pounds worth of Nectar points. My thrifted Topshop leopardprint belt finishes this animal print outfit off:

So heres hoping to some sunny weather this week-before we know it Autumn will be here and summer will be a distant memory ;-(

Wishing you all a lovely week ahead and for any of you going on holiday, bring some sun back please!

Denim obsession continues.....also, spending diary for my thrift finds and outfit post

Hi everyone!! Well this June was officially declared as the wettest and dullest since records began and I do so hope that July will not be following the same pattern. Today has been a mix of sun and showers yet again and the wind is getting my washing dry at the moment!!

Back to all things fashion related and my favourite denim find of the month is this H&M chambray denim gilet from the Cancer Research charity shop for £3.99.  I really like it as it's not pure denim so will be able to go with all jeans and summer skirts and it's super light and cosy for the current in-between weather:

The skirt was a find last week from the Salvation Army and is by Gap-it has a fine small red check print, pleated and has pockets and an ideal everyday summer skirt-only £2.99:

My tee is by Ralph Lauren from their Ashford outlet store and the sandals are from Topshop a few years ago. I'm also wearing blue hoop earrings from Primark which I bought last year.

I bought a diary at the beginning of June as a couple of years ago I used to do a spending diary for thrift finds and found it really gave me a good insight in to what I bought, what I gave away and what I spent. So far this month I have bought 3 summer skirts, 1 gilet, 1 jacket, 3 bags, 2 pairs of boots, 1 pair of shoes, 1 grey Tommy Hilfiger hoody, 1 grey Whistles tee and 1 Topshop embroidered blouse, 1 bangle and 1 scarf.

Out of all of these there are 2 bags which I didn't really need/want, but got them for the 'bargain' aspect. I have earmarked 8 items to the charity shop bag too. My favourite finds this month would be the summer skirts as they will definitely be worn, as will the gilet, the hoody, the boots, the tee and the blouse. I really try to only buy items that I will wear, as opposed to 'prettying the wardrobe'-ie-the wardrobe sees it more than what I do!!

Do you keep a budget/spending diary on what you buy and what you get rid of? It is certainly an eye opener, especially for repeat buys. I try to do a 'one in, one out' philosophy, but it doesn't always work.

I am hoping this months buys will feature 3 of these items on my thrift wishlist: a maxi sun dress, a blue denim skirt for everyday wear and a summer coloured small handbag or clutch-not black!!

Do you still have anything on a summer wishlist??

Recent thrift finds from the boot sales

Hi everyone!! No boot sales today, the morning started rainy so it's a day in for me, catching up on housework and blogging!!

I thought I would show some of my recent thrift finds. Last Sunday's boot sale was where I found these leather Wrangler cowboy boots, battered and worn, but with lots of life still to go in them:
Wrangler leather cowboy boots, £2

I also found these Gianni Versace navy suede loafers, worn but still in quite good nick!

Gianni Versace Versus navy suede loafers, £3

My favourite find of the month was at the same booty but 2 weeks ago, these Zara maroon flat chelsea boots for £2:

Yesterdays boot sale was where I found this jacket by St Martins- I love the floral styling for summer, plus the back detailing makes it rather unique looking too:

St Martins jacket, £2.50

I have been after one of these Panther bracelets for soo long now-the lady wanted £5, but I paid £4 for it-I think its an 80s one as it is quite heavy and the diamante is all still intact too:

As I started this post, it was sunny and as I am finishing it it is torrential rain-typical British weather and not one of the better days!! Never mind, I hope you all have a good week ahead, sunny or not!
