Denim shorts

Our weather has been absolutely hot, hot, hot this weekend, so on Saturday I decided to customise my Levi's low slouch jeans into shorter denim shorts. I was pleased to read in the Times that Shane Watson, who is in her 40's, thinks that shorts for older women is definitely a goer.

Zara shorts, £29

I've been wearing my cut offs all weekend-they're perfect for the weather at the moment and they are very comfy for just chilling out

Will you be customising any denim for this summer?

I don't think I have any shorts! I don't really love wearing them. I have a very short denim skirt for beach/poolside.

I'm not much of a shorts person, but you look great!

You look cute Sharon! I don't have any shorts and I do need a least 3 need pairs of denim. I probably won't customized, but more likely then not, I will have to hem.

I think yours work because you have fantastic legs. I have two little sausages that never look good in shorts which is why I stick to skirts and dresses. But if you've got great legs I think you should show them off whatever your age.

Ha Ha LOL - we've done a snap post - both on shorts and due to Shane Watson! I published mine and went to read yours not realising you'd gone shorts tastic too!!!

Great cut-offs! Once I get my hands on a new pair of material scissors, I'll be cutting up some old jeans and turning them into shorts. :)

I always think I might make skirts/shorts out of old jeans but I never have. Maybe I should take another look at my old denim and actually do it this summer!

You have the figure to carry off these shorts so age doesn't come into it. Its only when people wear them skin tight and ultra skimpy that there's a problem!

Would be interested to see what shoes you would team them with.

i agree with you. shorts are for everyone.

I only have a few pairs of shorts now... but I used to wear denim shorts in the summer months a lot when I was still living at home (North America).

Those from Zara are really nice!

This might be the summer to do it..with having to cut every corner..or so it seems. I think how we would roll up the bottom. Iron them down and even tack them in place as invisably as possible..or so my Mom showed me. Capri's out of jeans can be done this way too.

Thanks so much for the comment. Too.

Love your blog! :) I actually have a few old pairs of jeans that are either too short or just not all that cute. I've been thinking about cutting them to make shorts and this post was a great reminder for me to get on that! Thanks!

you look incredible in those shorts! I've been customising shorts since way back when, and suddenly everyone is doing it to...awesome :)

love the pockets showing under rough-cut denim shorts too...and the Aussie fave, the really high cut denim shorts. You really need confidence or a stiff drink for those types.

Have a great day m'dear :D

I've been living in mine! I got a nice expensive bermuda jeans 'worn' pair from Joe's and then I also bought two pairs from Target that I love. They're almost capris but I guess they're really jean bermuda shorts in two different rinses, dark and like a modern antique. I wish my legs looked like yours, though. I'm short and a bit stumpy. :)That's why I will be wearing my wedges most times with them! I have a pair of shorter shorts that I wear around the house but am too self-conscious to wear out.

Sharon S said...

Hi Bonnie-sounds like you're set up for summer with your pairs and I think wedges are perfect if you are shorter too.
