Kenneth Jay Lane and Vintage faux fur for winter

In an October edition of the weekly 'Look' magazine, there was an article on retro accessories and the brooches section particularly was of interest to me:

A couple of years ago I bought via Ebay, a Kenneth Jay Lane for Avon brooch, which I've rarely worn.
So when I went to the Frock Me! vintage fashion fair this Sunday gone, I wore the brooch with my white faux fur cropped vintage jacket which was my mums and that she wore on her own wedding day in the mid seventies to my stepfather:

Here is the jacket too, it was my first time of wearing and it was incredibly warm and fitted like a glove-I love the crop style and even now is a perfect addition for my winter wardrobe

What accessories will you be wearing this season?

I love old brooches, I don't wear mine nearly enough. They are such a lovely way to jazz up a jacket, and look especially decadent with fur x

Absolutely gorgeous! I love a brooch on a fake fur coat, like Penny says it's delightfully decadent. How lovely to have your Mum's special jacket, too. xxx

What a gorgeous coat and how sweet that your mother wore it on her wedding day! Makes it so much more special. Love that brooch. I went through a phase two years ago, where I went crazy buying vintage brooches off eBay. I really need to start wearing them...

Dear Sharon, I love Kenneth Jay Lane's jewellery. Your jacket is beautiful and the brooch looks perfect with it. You can't beat a bit of cream fur, it always looks more luxurious xx

Lovely, I really like the stories behind the brooch and jacket too. I've got a few vintage brooches but don't wear them often enough.

Love it, Sharon (the brooch and the jacket)!
This season I'm wearing a lot of brown leather belts knotted. Not quite as exciting as sparkly brooches ;)

What a fantastic and unique idea! I'm usually not a brooch person but yours looks just divine on your mother's beautiful coat! If I ever get lucky enough to find a lovely faux fur jacket like that I will try this for sure! ^_^

That jacket is gorgeous! It reminds me of one I used to have years ago and of course, am now wishing I'd kept it! Should I admit to naming it Mopsy?? x

First of all that fur coat is on-point, would love that have that in my closet and the brooch just put a wonderful retro spin on the whole piece. Nice touch!
