DIY job number 2-Chain Bag shortened

My husband Chris is fantastic at DIY, so last week I was so happy to say, oh shorten the chain on my Tula bag please, thinking it would be no problem for him at all!! Uh-oh, a big mistake-he gave it back and the chain was horribly twisted and deformed!! Haha, I'm laughing now-I wasn't then! To say I sulked was an understatement and also rather over the top by me. Because I then actually realised, if I had asked him to shorten the chain at the joins, rather than the middle (as requested by me) then the chain wouldn't be deformed looking! So back to square one, the piece of chain that was to go in the bin, was now going to be the new strap! So out came the pliers and Chris was back on the job!! yay, with better results-I just had to add some of the leather thonging through part of the strap and glue it-but voila ---

AFTER- a new style, more versatile and wearable with a shorter strap!!

BEFORE-The bag before it was reworked. I already have a long chain strap bag (well 3 others actually) so I could afford to play about with this one!!

So if any of you lovely ladies attempt a strap shortening job, start at the joins-not in the middle of the strap, like me-doh!!

Viva La Vintage!!

As you are aware from my header title, I really love vintage!! I have 50s dresses from my mum, 70s Ossie Clark dresses, 80s wear and although too young to be called vintage, pieces from the 90s too!! SATC ran from 1999 to 2004, with Carrie showcasing numerous times, vintage pieces that look totally timeless-here are some of my favourites :-)

A beautiful white vintage sundress-totally timeless!!

Another lovely vintage, my dear!!

A gorgeous vintage skirt!!

Vivienne Westwood vintage-I want it!!

DIY job number 1-Cut Offs - plus tagged!

Now summers here, I love wearing cut offs-at this length they are cool enough and comfy enough to wear in hot weather. My first pair that I did myself, my 7 for all mankind black jeans, are soo comfy that I really needed another pair on the go too.

7 for all mankind cut offs

So, last week I thought I would do the same to my Victoria Beckham rock & republic jeans, as I felt they were a little too short as jeans anyway, plus I wanted some blue cut offs.

This is the result-I'm really pleased as I have 2 pairs on the go now, plus a white pair which were already bought this length from Dorothy Perkins a couple of years ago.

I did some Levi's a couple of months ago, but on hindsight they were 'short' cut offs, meant for the beach, but really at that length I felt outside my comfort zone in them, so the charity shop and hopefully a new home has benefited from those ones!! I like the on the knee length as these can be worn anywhere, anytime.

I've been tagged by the gorgeous fashion chalet, to who I relay my sincerest apologies-I'm a complete technophobe, so was rather wary when I saw I had to do things with flickr (?) I'm definitely up for the tag but by question and answer format only-sorry for being such a donut!!

70s Revisited

This is the 70's vest I got in the week from the charity shop.
It's a Marks and Spencer vest and has all music words over it-totally unusual!!
I've paired it with my 7 for all mankind jeans, which are slightly flared, keeping up the 70's vibe!!

I also found in my wardrobe some silver gladiator style flat sandals, that were in the sale a couple of years ago at Dorothy Perkins for £5!!

Well, the reason as to why they were at the back of the wardrobe, unworn, is that the toeposts are hard and uncomfy :-(

I'm hoping I will have the stamina to break these in, as they are gorgeous sandals!!

Prada Inspiration-black lace

Ever since I've seen the Prada fall collection, I've been coveting lace and thought I wanted something to fit this trend.

Voila, I fell upon this lovely lace and ruffle top in the week for only £1.50!! But as it is so sheer, I had put it away, thinking of what I could wear underneath it. Well, thanks to Elle magazine, my free vest from yesterday is just the ticket!!

I was very pleased with the result and for not a lot spent too!!
