ThriftMyStyle Outfit Post....Khaki and red style

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend-the weather is still so cold but we have been lucky where I live in that there has been no snow-as yet!! Out and about this weekend I thought I would wear my latest purchase, my khaki camo leopardprint and rose print scarf- mixing my two favourite winter colours of khaki and red. It was only £4 from Primark and is my current favourite scarf-I've worn it a few times already.
I am also wearing my khaki cap by Nobis which was a Christmas present from eldest son, my khaki H&M fur lined parka jacket and my trusty Pavers boots.

As you can see I've added some pops of red to my outfit-my red cross body saddle style bag and my red leather and leopardprint gloves from Marks and Spencer which were bought last Autumn.

As much as I love black I am drawn to adding some colour into my outfits for winter and it's hard to beat red. Khaki is one of my favourite trans-seasonal colours, it is so versatile and stylish in my opinion.

What are your favourite colours for winter?

Wishing you all a lovely week ahead!

ThriftMyStyle...Mixing modern and vintage + navy and white

Hi everyone! I am very much looking at trans-seasonal pieces that will be versatile and stylish to be part of my wardrobe. After my wardrobe revamp at the weekend I wanted to ensure the jackets, blouses, tees and jeans that I have will mix well and work for any season.

In Autumn last year I found this pure wool tux blazer in a neighbouring town's Sue Ryder charity shop for £4.99. It's nearly vintage-from the early 90s and in excellent condition. What drew me to it was the single breasted styling, the tux style collar and the pinstripe-dot detailing:

The finer details which add extra dimension to this tux blazer:

On Monday I thrifted this J Crew tee for £4.99 in another neighbouring town's Scope charity shop. I've not bought any J Crew pieces before and the quality of the cotton is so lovely, the tee is made in Macau and is more of a fine knit rather than a traditional 100% cotton tee:

I thought this tee would again be an ideal item under jackets and go with any denim piece and colour wise navy and white goes with virtually anything. Here they are together and I would also add a summer scarf in a contrasting print and colour to make this work in Spring and Autumn. Being in pure wool it's also ideal for all seasons and can be taken into evening wear with a silk cami underneath.

This jacket will be ideal with skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans and also white jeans, as well as any colour tee underneath too.

What style of jacket will you wearing this coming season?

ThriftMyStyle.....Outfit post and wardrobe revamping

Hi everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend-it's nice that we are experiencing more milder weather as layering in upto half a dozen pieces is not totally necessary at the moment!
I thought I would do an outfit post featuring a couple of new additions to my wardrobe. I thrifted this black long line jacket/coat in December at my local Sue Ryder charity shop for £6.99 and I've been waiting for some milder weather to wear it. I've teamed it with a Primark skull scarf, River Island black skinny jeans and my new Caitlin black studded clutch/cross body bag from PrettyLittleThing.com:

I'm also wearing the Megan suedette boots they sent me-thanks so much!!

Silver studs are a great way to add something extra to an all black outfit

I spent this weekend doing a wardrobe revamp and there are quite a few things destined for the charity shop-mainly basics such as sweaters and tees that are too tight and not shapes or cuts that I want to wear anymore. I am fortunate that I have a good variety of jackets and jeans already and just need to top up with everyday blouses and sweaters as I see them.

I've linked up this outfit post to the lovely Patti's Visible Monday at Not Dead Yet Style

What items are lacking in your wardrobe this season, will you be needing to have a wardrobe rehaul?

Celia Birtwell for Uniqlo

Hi everyone! I was very excited to read that Celia Birtwell, a long admired designer of mine and of course the ex wife of Ossie Clark has just released details of her forthcoming collaboration with Uniqlo which will be  launched on 21 March.
Celia's iconic prints and designs have been reworked and rescaled to produce an exclusive new range which will include, tees, tunic tops, shirts, jeggings, tote bags and culottes.
Here is a sneak peek of what we can expect:

I really love the outfit to the right, the prints of the blouse and jeggings really work well together

These culottes look amazing too, the shape and cut look so modern

In preparation for this collection, Celia flew to Japan and selected several prints including ones from her Home collection and she is hoping this collaboration will have similar success to the one she had with Topshop.

I will definitely be purchasing an item when the collection comes out this Spring-my favourite brand with a much admired designer-what's not to love??

Wishing you all a very relaxing and great weekend!
