ThriftMyStyle..........Breton stripes for winter

Hi everyone! One item that is forever in style is the Breton top. Navy and white is always a classic combination and the easy way to channel this trend for winter is to invest in a long sleeve tee or jumper which will be a worthwhile style staple as it can be worn every winter as it will never date. Desginers and the high street have a variety of  different colour and patterns based on the traditional Breton style, here are my picks of what's available online at the moment:

Last summer I thrifted this Topshop jumper at my local boot sale for a bargainous £1- its quite chunky and ideal for wearing with high rise dark skinny flares this winter:

This Zara organic cotton tee was from the Sue Ryder charity shop earlier this week for just £2.75 and I'll wear it as a layering piece this winter, under a shirt, cardigan or gilet:

They also look great with a pop of red, maybe an accompanying necklace, belt or bag would complete the look with dark colour jeans or if you're feeling confident enough, some off white jeans would also look great!

Are you wearing Breton tees from summer gone or do you think you'll be buying this style of top for the coming season? Wishing you all a very happy weekend!!

Ha, that topshop jumper is a great thrift, so sad we don't have proper thrift stores over here.

What great finds! As you say, both perfect with denim and effortlessly chic. x

I adore the striped look and would find it had to pass one of these up if they appeared at one of My Favorite Thrift Stores!

Gorgeous finds! I nabbed a stripey jumper from Zara Kids and it is just so perfect! Actually I'm a bit over the stripey tee - I needed to find a new one to replace the one that's worn out but couldn't find any at the time so went for a stripey dress instead which is better for me.

I love breton stripes with red and camel or tan. My favourite tops, I have about 5!

I adore Breton stripes! I have a couple of items with them so I will continue to wear them but if I found a really nice boat-neck cotton t-shirt, I'd definitely buy that! What great bargains you found! I'd love to go to a boot sale with you some time!x

I do like Breton stripes but they make my chest look too large so I only wear stripes in my pants and skirts.
You are a lucky girl, you always find great items on your thrifting adventures.

I actually bought a striped tee in the Zara sale. It has studs for buttons which really gives it an edge. I have so many striped tops - such staples xx

Can't go wrong with stripes. Love them. You do so well with your thrifting - you obviously have a knack and eye for it.
