Hi everyone!! I hope you all had a good weekend, I'm trying my best to have a semi self imposed shopping ban in that I've thrifted (and bought) quite a few items over this month and now it's come to the end of the month I'd like to start wearing all my new and existing items that I have in my Autumnal wardrobe.
The shirt that I am wearing below is 'new to me'. My eldest son is not only a freelance photographer he also works full time in a London men's PR fashion company, so does come home every now and then with new items for his own wardrobe. He actually brought this shirt home earlier on in the year and when I realised it would be ideal to have a flannel plaid shirt for the coming season I decided to swipe it and put it in my wardrobe!!
The shirt is by a Los Angeles street wear brand called Dope Couture and is in red and black brushed
cotton, perfect for wearing by itself or as a layering piece over tees and under jackets. I'm wearing the shirt with my trusty All Saint's boyfriend style skinny jeans, claret Zara chelsea boots and a black Primark tee:
To be perfectly honest, although plaid, check and tartan are totally on trend for this season, I doubt if I would have gone and bought an item in these- I like the trend, but don't love it. For me the best way to adopt this trend was to 'steal' the look from the nearest men's wardrobe and as myself and my eldest are pretty much the same size, I dipped into his!!
Do you borrow items from the men in your life's wardrobes? Some items are ideal to 'borrow or steal' to create a different stylish look- a cosy wool knit is a great piece to have and is perfect with skinny jeans or faux leather leggings!
Wishing you all a great week ahead!

You look great in red and that shirt was a great steal from your son's wardrobe.
I never thought tartan ever went out of fashion, shows what little I know! x
It looks great on you! When I was a teen I used to borrow my dad's shirts and I've always loved men's styles. I find the quality is better - have a stack of men's jumpers and a couple of parkas. As for shirts, I raid the boy's section now! A green/blue plaid cotton shirt is one of my all time fav pieces. I'm looking forward to being able to wear my tartan trousers from last year soon :-) xx
Great combination with plaids:D
I love your shoes there super cool :D
Got a new post up and can’t wait to see your opinion!
Happy Week!

That is definitely a keeper. And very on trend right now too. Nice!

I'm always nicking Mr TNMA's stuff! Nice shirt.
You look great, my son gave me one not to different, I was going to make it into a skirt but now I've seen you wear yours I'm going to try it :)Thanks for sharing...
Personally, I am so happy that flannel plaid is back in. I lived in mine in my teens and just got myself another one now. Love it and you look fab. I usually pop into the men's sections for tops!
Hi everyone-so pleased you liked the shirt and that some of you will be wearing this style too, thanks for stopping by xxx
You look lovely....I must take a peek in my sons wardrobe!!

I've been on the lookout for a plaid shirt (thrift of course) because I want to cut the sleeves off and wear it as a vest over long skirts etc. Your shirt is fabulous-I love the plaid and color. My son is too skinny and my husband is "big 'n tall" so I don't borrow too much from them. I do shop the men's department in the thrift stores, though. :-)
Great shirt and something you now don't have to buy to be on trend. Pinching stuff from the men in your life, not in this house lol x
