Statement coats at Net-A-Porter

Net A Porter have some gorgeous statement coats in their sale. If I don't track a vintage statement coat down this year, I'm seriously thinking of saving up for one in their sale this time next year. Here are my favourites:

Rick Owens Lilies £276.49

Vivienne Westwood Anglomania £186

McQ £329

Helmut Lang £256.92

A winter coat is a serious investment piece and if looked after can last many years, so although the initial investment may seem steep, the cost per wear will come down quite rapidly!!

Oh, I love the one by McQ! It's so gorgeous. It does cost quite a lot, but I totally agree with you that since it's a classic caot it'd last a lifetime or maybe even passed down to our kids, etc.

the Helmut Lang one is definately a statement piece - amazing. and i love the sleeves on the Rick owens one. coats are good investment pieces, LaMimi has a good point about passing it down to kids, i say this as someone who has knicked a ton of her mum's old clothes.

I got a very expensive shearling coat...in 1998. Still wearing it. Spend the money, it's worth it!

Hi everyone-thanks for the great comments and La Mimi and Wendy, I agree that although a coat will be initially expensive, its certainly a very worthwhile purchase-your coat sounds lovely, Wendy!!
