Wale Adeyemi-Future Vintage

Young designer Wale Adeyemi started his collection in 1998, as a menswear line which grew very rapidly and within 3 years, he had added a womenswear collection to his portfolio.
His internationally famous unisex B-Side label with its Graffiti Collection – one of the most striking prints of the 21st Century - ensured his place in British history when the collection was noted by the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and featured him in its ‘Moments in Black British Style’ exhibition in 2005.
He immediately shot to fashion fame when David Beckham made front page headlines in Walé’s signature Graffiti print jacket. He currently works as a consultant for American brand New Era and was made an MBE in 2008.

The text used to decorate Adeyemi's clothes is a poem called Future which he commissioned from graffiti artist Tudor.

So, I was really pleased to pick up this skirt from the Graffiti Collection in the British Heart Foundation Charity Shop earlier this week on sale for only £1.60!!

Definitely a vintage piece for the future and coincides nicely with the resurgence of graffiti fashion for this summer too!!
