80s Thrift Finds for Summer

As you all know, I am doing my Vintage Fashion Fair every month and love to find suitable pieces for my stall. It is very tempting to keep pieces myself but generally I am good and have been putting things I find aside to sell.

However, I've been coveting an item of vintage Liberty of London for a long time now and when I found these, it was two finds in one for me-floral shorts and vintage Liberty.

They are typical 80s design, long line and high waisted and I think they'll prove versatile as I would also wear them rolled up. I would welcome styling suggestions too, as I don't want too much of a typical vintage or typical girly look when I wear them.

Another fab 80s find for me was this neon green Hunza stretch skirt, which is a lot more vibrant and colourful and neon-y than the photo shows!!

I loved Hunza back in the day, I had bodycon dresses and a gorgeous 2 piece skirt suit sourced from a boutique in the Roman Road market in East London - I still wish I 'd kept all my pieces, but gave them away when the boys were young. So when I find their pieces now, I'll try and make them wearable for me.
Again, style tips most appreciated, I think I may go for a grey or black tee, denim or leather jacket and flats-maybe cowboy boots.

I love finding vintage or retro dresses, but its great to find separates so you can incorporate them easier into a modern looking outfit.

What has been your recent favourite thrift find?

Oh, great finds! If it were me I'd wear those pretty shorts with a white vest, denim waistcoat, a big chunky leather belt and some tan gladiator sandals or Converses. I bet they'll look gorgeous on your fab figure. xxx

The Hunza skirt is so beautiful! It would also look great (and a bit Jill Sander) to wear it with a white tee.

Great finds and both items have a lovely shade of green.
However that green Hunza skirt is taking back to many club hopping and parties popping days!!!!

I love the print on the shorts is great. My favorite thrift find is this bright green coat from the 60s I got for $5.

Oh lovely, both. I'd wear the shorts with a white vest top and sharp blazer so the floral was contrasted with tailoring xx

I like that seafoam green!

Gorgeous shorts. You must've been elated to find those. I'd probaby wear them with a simple vest top and some rough looking work type boots just to shake the whole look up a bit. Well done on your finds. X

I do love that skirt a lot. You always find such wonderful stuff. I think I'd also go for a white vest top. I'd probably wear some sort of chunky jewellery with it.

And thanks for the comment, I am 90% sure I am going for the fringe next Tuesday. Ahhhh!

Oh no, I couldn't part from the floral Liberty trousers either. Great find! Personally I think a worn-looking, loose white t-shirt and some sandals would make the look complete.

I love the liberty shorts! Liberty prints always remind me of William Morris wallpaper which I really like! Almost bought a vintage skirt with a similar print last Saturday!

i like the second skirt. I would wear a fitted white top with the skirt.

Lovely pieces for your collection, I'd match them with a simple nude tee shirt or tank top. xx

Great items, as usual. You've got great taste. I still think you should have sell your items online as well, maybe having an ebay shop or advertise a few pieces here. Have a great weekend. Ciao. A.

Such wonderful finds. I love the shorts. Unfortunately, Mumbai isn't the place for Vintage buys. hopefully, a trip abroad is on cards soon. Will surely ask you for some tips on Vintage buying.

Lovely finds Sharon! I love anything Liberty print. I'd style the green skirt with a white shirt knotted at the waist and tan sandals. xx

Fabulous finds! Don't you hate it when you just give away stuff, only to regret it bit-time later on? I've done that so much I just hold onto my vintage clothes nowadays, lol!

I love both of these pieces. I can't imagine the discipline it takes to refrain from keeping everything for yourself!

Yup, i'm with vix on the shorts. And i'd love to see the minty green skirt colour blocked, with a pink or orange too

Hello my lovely, what a long time away from you.
This is not perfum, but a new and lighter version au de cologne: smells of jasmines and magnolias. Wonderful for Spanish hot summer weather.
