Party outfit decision plus wardrobe basics

Well this weeks shopping trip was really only for two or three items-navy work trousers, black smart trousers and white evening trousers to go with my Zandra Rhodes Kaftan.

Well, several trying on sessions revealed that I really don't like light coloured floaty/evening/dressy trousers on me-I just didn't like them on and bearing in mind I most probably wouldn't wear them regularly, I've decided to wear my maxi dress for the party and glam it up with accessories!!

I found on my shopping trip some ASOS high waist corset smart black wide legged trousers, £4.50 British Heart Foundation; New Look black wide legged smart trousers £2.99; A vintage navy wool crepe wiggle pencil skirt £2.00; Gap skinny black cordoroy jeans £2.99-All from Help The Aged; Florence & Fred navy work trousers £2.99 and Miss Sixty Truman Indigo straight legged high waist jeans £3.99 both from Salvation Army. I don't own any black trousers, apart from one work pair that are falling apart, so I've a couple of pairs for smartwear now!!

I'm really pleased as all the trousers and jeans are in an 'as new', excellent condition, as is the vintage skirt-which I love as it fits like a glove and is high waisted too!!

Miss Sixty Truman Jeans-mine were £3.99, currently on sale online at
Red Carpet Couture for $99.99!!

Man, you get some seriously amazing deals! Every item for under £5?! That's insane! I wish I had that kind of insanity on my shopping trips :) Can't wait to see how the outfit comes together!

Thanks so much danz-Like I said, I am pleased as I didn't have any decent black trousers and most of the items I got are high waisted so they will go with a lot of my tops!!

Hi lovely Ida-it's actually 15 June from 6pm onwards, I am looking forward to it-thanks so much for your comment and have a lovely weekend!!

Hi ladies who lunch-the charity shops in my part of Essex have an abundance of reasonable, good quality stuff!!

Hi on track-thanks so much-I do try everything on before I buy, just to make sure!!

Thanks so much, fashion is poison!!

Hi jen! I generally do this, but other bargains do generally pop up when I'm not looking out for them!!

Hi Karima-Shopping for trousers is the hardest-I'm extremely picky so if they don't hang or fit right, I don't have them-same for jeans too!!

I absolutely wanna come in England, Sharon! You bought these beaautiful jeans for a couple of pounds, in Rome ( but where my parents live is the same situation ) there isn't valuable stores for vintage with affordable prices, no way for charity shop...
Instead i have a store where i can buy brands as Sinéquanone (do you like it? I saw you have a dress), Donna Karan, Gai Mattiolo and others, for a small price, they have some stocks or surplus in production, if you got small size, from 0 to 2, or from italian size36to 40 ( xxs,xs, s)it works perfect! I call it my special outlet near downtown.

Have a great weekend! I spend my saturday at rugby stadium to see the final of italian championship!
